Dr. Lubna Maruf is a graduate of the Aga Khan Medical University and is a three times Board certified Internist. She is currently the Medical Director for QualChoice – an established healthcare insurance organization based in Arkansas. Dr. Maruf has been affiliated with the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) since 2000. She has served as a faculty for the Residency training program and has mentored medical students from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In her short time with QualChoice, Dr. Maruf has gained statewide attention as an expert on Patient Centered Medical Home. She collaborates with Primary Care providers across Arkansas, private Health Care Insurance companies, Arkansas Medicaid and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), towards implementation of Value Based Health Payment System Reform in Arkansas and nationally. Dr. Maruf was selected by the Veterans Administration (VA) to attend Community of Champions – a premier, 12-month leadership development and coaching training program for physicians. By coaching and mentoring she has helped physicians in their personal and professional growth through self-exploration techniques. Dr Margaret Cary envisioned and implemented the Community of Champions. As a citizen diplomat with Arkansas Global Ties, she has hosted a number of delegates from all over the world who visit Arkansas to learn about legislation, agriculture, healthcare, journalism and women rights. She has also participated with Arkansas chapter of WAND (Women’s Actions for New Directions.)
