Looking more closely at coaching supervision books published recently, the following became evident: of the 13 books published since 2007, 12 were first published in the UK of which six were by Open University Press; the remaining book was from South Africa as a result of a PhD dissertation research.

Open University Press in the UK published six books on supervision – three of which were co-authored by Peter Hawkins: President of Association Professional Executive Coaches and Supervisors (APECS)

Co-wrote “Supervision in the Helping Professions: An Individual, Group, and Organizational Approach” in 1989 (co-founder with Robin Shohet of Centre for Supervision and Team Development – London)

Co-wrote the CIPD change Agenda “Coaching Supervision” with Gil Schwenk (both of Bath Consultancy Group)

Co-wrote in 2012 “Supervision in The Helping Professions” with Robin Shohet

Co-Wrote in 2007/2013 “Coaching, Mentoring and Organizational Consultancy: Supervision and Development” with Nick Smith

Wrote chapter “Building emotional, ethical and cognitive capacity in coaches – a development model of supervision” in Supervision in Coaching.

Wrote chapter “Coaching Supervision” in The Handbook of Coaching by Elaine Cox and Tatiana Bachkirova (2014)

Coaching Supervision Academy members authored two books:

Edna Mudoch and Jackie Arnold (2013) “Full Spectrum Supervision”
Jackie Arnold (2014) “Coaching Supervision at its B.E.S.T.: Build, Engage, Support, Trust”
